Approximately 76 million elderly (27 %), 60 and above live alone. We search for those who have no-one. Living alone. Feeling lost, and forgotten. We give HOPE for Isolated Seniors
We are in the days ahead of unknowns for what is to come for hundreds of charities, including the major charities that have depended on taxpayer funding. Many specific targeted groups will now have no where to turn, unless you and I step up.
The Highway 62 Jubilee MISSION is to give Hope for Isolated Seniors by meeting their physical and spiritual needs.
Since the second year of operation, we have distributed over 500 Birthday and Christmas Gifts. We have participated in bringing in donations to flood victims throughout Kentucky. We have been expanding our needs based mission, partnering with county aging agencies and nursing homes. Currently we are serving over 20 clients every month. We provide clothing, personal items, books, music, household items and mailing cards of encouragement monthly.
Adults 65 and older make up 12% of the population, they account for 18% of suicides. Some of the risk factors include loneliness, which is often attributed to loss of a spouse or partner and living far from family and friends. (Link)
HOPE FOR ISOLATED SENIORS MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
We reach out to the elderly who are in need and have no family, to provide clothing, music cd‘s, personal care items, books, Christmas gifts and birthday gifts plus inspirational card sent by mail.
How We Accomplish our Goals and Objectives
THE PLAN:
1. Seek out isolated nursing home and homebound seniors.
2. Build a team of volunteers that expand our ability to be a voice of encouragement.
3. Be provided a building where we can accept donations and store our overflow of donations, and have room to produce Southern Gospel Concerts.
4. Network with other like minded and same goal oriented organizations to expand our outreach.
5. Find a compassionate donor who would provide a cargo van that allows us to service and deliver more gifts and needed supplies.
