THE MISSION: The Highway 62 Jubilee mission is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the elderly with clothing, birthday & holiday gifts, books and of course, music while preserving the heritage of the gospel music a forgotten generation grew up with.
THE VISION: To be seeking out home-bound senior citizens and nursing home residents. Where have we made an impact? Since the second year of operation, we have distributed over 500 Birthday and Christmas Gifts. We have participated in bringing in donations to flood victims throughout Kentucky. Where do we go from here? Expanding on our needs based mission, with clothing, personal items, and household items.
THE PLAN: Continue making contact with churches, social agencies and nursing homes that have the resources of knowing who and where seniors that have no family or friends to show they are cared for andloved
Strawberry Festival & Gospel Homecoming Singing To benefit Highway 62 Project Hero for the Elderly
Hardinsburg, KY – March 3, 2025 – On May 17, 2025, Dove Award Winning Jeff & Sheri Easter will be performing at the 2025 Strawberry Festival and Gospel Concert series benefiting The Highway 62 Project Hero 62 mission.
1.5 million older adults live in nursing homes and 1 million live in assisted living facilities. Approximately 76 million elderly (27 %), 60 and above live alone. These are the generations that cherish traditional Gospel music. Many don’t have the means to get to a live concert. Frankly, many don’t have the means, or family support to help with a full quality of life. They depend on food banks. They depend on social services.
This is why we now operate Highway 62 Project Hero 62. Meeting Community Needs! With the assistance of tireless volunteers, we organize fundraisers to allow us to raise money to purchase and distribute items that make their quality of life better. With the generosity of our corporate and individual sponsors we work year round to collect clothing, birthday and Christmas Gift, inspirational reading materials and music and to personally deliver these items.
On Saturday May 17, 2025, Highway 62 Jubilee, along with Schwartz Family Restaurant, is producing their 3rd annual family friendly spring event “Strawberry Festival & Gospel Homecoming Singing” to help fund Project Hero 62.
It is Strawberry Season – Bring the Family For U-Pick Strawberries! During the day and into the evening, 6 popular Gospel groups will be singing at the outdoor stage. You will be treated to a full day of music, Headlined by Jeff and Sheri Easter.
There will be silent auctions and activities for the kids. The Strawberry Festival & Gospel Homecoming Singing is our fundraiser for Project Hero—Senior Community Assistance Programs.

Highway 62 Jubilee Music News Updates February 14 2023
Have you ever had one of those weeks where you feel like you are pulled in all directions? Yes, me too. I’ve spent restless nights grappling with God. And then BOOM! This happens. On February 8th, a chapel service in Wilmore Kentucky has, and is, experiencing the quiet, reverent presence of God and the Holy Spirit. I’ve been to Wilmore. I know folks there. I encourage you to read about this revival that is spreading across many states, and to many colleges! (Read Here).
With that, it’s time to share the news and updates from the Highway 62 organization.
While we make plans and seek guidance for the 2023 season, we find the real calling is in serving others. Our audiences are of an older generation for the most part. Many of those want to be at the live concerts, but live alone, with no family to see to them. We have been blessed to have the resources available to us to reach out and meet needs for them. Clothing, books, music, birthday and holiday gifts, and more.
I have been led to approach this in a small way, and the door has been opened. On Wednesday March 15th, we will be at The Central KY Community Action Center during their monthly senior food pantry day. CAC is providing us with a list of March birthdays of seniors in their system. We will be sharing birthday gifts, books and Highway 62 Jubilee CD’s. After weeks of planning, this will be our first step getting out into the communities.
There’s more news, which I will send out in an email or two between now and Sunday. We kick off our End Of Winter fund raising, and are deep in planning our all day Outdoor Gospel Music Festival in May. Resuming broadcasts in March, which will also include some streaming messages from pastors around the area. Stay Tuned!
